well here are reasons why people from working class backgrounds are given a worse education and i say this as someone who was born working class and is academically oriented.

in this video it was said that education should be based on teaching as many people as possible and resources should be increased to make education better. this is quite idealistic. it's not that the better-off don't want the worse-off to not learn and be easily manipulated. in reality, good teaching would be given if the children of the disadvantaged wanted to learn. but they don't want to learn. in the working class culture there is a thing called cultural deprivation. it means, simply put, that culture includes the support of stupid and disadvantageous values. i have learned in my own life that working-class culture has a strong ethos of anti-intellectualism.

this leads to the fact that no matter what educational policy things are done for the benefit of the working class, they are too stupid to understand what is being given to them and it gets fucking expensive. it is incredibly expensive to provide quality education to an unmotivated demographic. then to whom is that high-quality teaching given? for schools attended by an academically upper-middle class crowd. education policy then goes in the direction that the cheapest solution is to just give shitty "don't question anything" education to working-class people, and real, intellectual and insightful education to children from academic families.

there is no reason to "fix" the system as such, because we need people from working-class anyway. so if they are hopelessly stupid, so be it, they will never end up in scientific information work anyways and instead do manual work. it is logical that if you are not interested in the sciences and arts, then you will end up in manual work.

as you may have learned in your life, like me, a person should take responsibility for his own education. this means that in your free time you find out about things that have been bothering you. it is a trait that is required in the academic world. you can't be a schoolboy forever, but at some point you have to grow up to be a researcher.

so if you've intellectually gotten over a working-class slave mentality education, be proud of it. you're smarter than rest of them. you know better (in both senses).
