this is why i think that we should abolish gender all together because it's nothing more than stupid social construct. people think they are freed from the construction of gender by identifying as non-binary or as 15 thousand other genders, when it specifically maintains the oppression system.
the world today is basically that we categorize people into certain cultures and expectations just because she has certain chromosomes or genitals in their pants. that's why i think of gender as fundamentally oppressive, because it forces a person to live according to certain expectations or there are social sanctions. when we are non-binary or we are 15 thousand other made up genders, you just add a new gender category that also has its own social expectations. therefore, it does not eliminate the problem, but perpetuates it. that's why such non-binaries who like to complain the passing of other non-binaries are no different from those patriarchal thinking people who define who is a "real man" or a "proper woman". the point in both is that just because someone looks a certain way in terms of their gender, they have to behave, look and think a certain way in order to redeem their humanity and dignity. that if anything is oppression.
the absurdity can be internalized by imagining if we divided people into different cultures through other external factors, such as big-eyedness and small-eyedness.
big-eyed people can't wear blue clothes or buy axe deodorant! they should wear pink and be nurses! we small-eyed should be just fixing cars! we name big-eyed and small-eyed differently! sometimes we use same names for both eye sizes!
in ideal world we shouldn't give a fuck about gender and let everyone do what ever they fucking want. at the same time we should still be scientific which mean that yes, sex is biological thing but still it doesn't define you or assosiate you with any culture.
